Degrees & Certifications: BAA Child & Youth Study; Music Education through the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (Canada), focus on piano and voice training

Mrs. Lyons is a passionate music educator with decades of experience inspiring young learners through creative, Christ-centered instruction. Originally planning to pursue administration and special education, she was invited to return to her alma mater as a music instructor—and went on to serve as music director for a K–12 Adventist academy for 12 years. Since 1993, she has also run her own private music studio. 

At RMES, Mrs. Lyons brings energy, flexibility, and joy to the K–2 music program and has served in many roles across the school. She especially values RMES’s multicultural community and the opportunity to connect with students from all over the world.

The early years of education shape more than just school readiness—they shape identity, confidence, and a lifelong approach to learning. At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, we recognize that what happens in these formative years lays the groundwork for how a child thinks, relates, and thrives. Here, education is more than academics. It’s the cultivation of curiosity, the strengthening of resilience, and the daily experience of being seen and supported. In classrooms filled with purpose and encouragement, students begin to understand not just what they can achieve—but who they are in Christ.
