More than just a game
Helping students grow stronger - physically, socially, and spiritually through Christ-centered competition and teamwork.
Fitness, fun, and faith in action
At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, physical education is more than just gym time - it’s a carefully designed program that supports the physical, mental, and spiritual development of every student.
Grounded in the belief that our bodies are wonderfully made by God, our PE program helps students build fitness, character, and confidence through age-appropriate activities that emphasize teamwork, skill-building, and sportsmanship.
Whether it’s understanding the game schedule or reviewing our sportsmanship expectations, these resources are here to help your family support a healthy and positive PE experience.

Meet The Teacher
Promoting Christ-like character through movement, play, and teamwork.

Coach Lonto leads the RMES physical education and intramurals programs with purpose, energy, and a heart for ministry. With decades of experience and a passion for teaching students how to care for their bodies and each other, he designs each activity to build skill, confidence, and Christ-like character—on and off the court. Whether teaching Kindergarten or coaching 8th grade, he reminds every student that their bodies were wonderfully created by God to do amazing things.
The early years of education shape more than just school readiness—they shape identity, confidence, and a lifelong approach to learning. At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, we recognize that what happens in these formative years lays the groundwork for how a child thinks, relates, and thrives. Here, education is more than academics. It’s the cultivation of curiosity, the strengthening of resilience, and the daily experience of being seen and supported. In classrooms filled with purpose and encouragement, students begin to understand not just what they can achieve—but who they are in Christ.
