A Year of growth and new challenges

Fifth Grade at RMES

Encouraging leadership, critical thinking, and Christ-like character in and out of the classroom.

Prepared for what’s next

Welcome to Fifth Grade at RMES

Where students stretch academically, grow spiritually, and discover their unique gifts.

Fifth grade at RMES is a transformative year. Students are given opportunities to explore more advanced academic concepts, take greater responsibility, and build deeper connections with peers and teachers.

With Christ as the foundation, our fifth-grade classroom encourages students to lead by example, embrace curiosity, and apply their learning in meaningful ways - both in school and beyond.

Learning to lead, learning to serve

Peer Leadership. Fifth grade marks the beginning of increased student leadership at RMES. Students take initiative in group work, classroom responsibilities, and spiritual life.
Deeper Academic Exploration. Fifth graders tackle more complex reading, multi-paragraph writing, pre-algebra concepts, and scientific inquiry.

Where Every Lesson Builds Confidence
and Character

The early years of education shape more than just school readiness—they shape identity, confidence, and a lifelong approach to learning. At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, we recognize that what happens in these formative years lays the groundwork for how a child thinks, relates, and thrives. Here, education is more than academics. It’s the cultivation of curiosity, the strengthening of resilience, and the daily experience of being seen and supported. In classrooms filled with purpose and encouragement, students begin to understand not just what they can achieve—but who they are in Christ.
