Prepared to lead, ready to grow

Sixth Grade at RMES

Building strong minds, strong values, and strong leadership as students prepare for junior high.

The Launchpad to Junior High

Welcome to Sixth Grade at RMES

Equipping students with the tools to lead with integrity, learn with purpose, and live with faith.

Sixth grade marks an exciting transition into upper elementary and preparation for junior high. At RMES, students are challenged to grow in their academic independence, personal responsibility, and spiritual maturity.

With hands-on learning, collaborative projects, and opportunities for leadership, sixth graders discover what it means to be thoughtful learners and faithful role models in their school and community.

Confidence, competence, and character

What Students Experience in Sixth Grade

Deepening Faith & Identity. Students explore biblical themes in greater depth and reflect on how to live their values in meaningful, everyday ways.
Collaborative Learning. Group work, projects, and presentations give students a chance to practice communication, cooperation, and critical thinking.
Junior High Readiness. Sixth grade marks the beginning of increased student leadership at RMES. Students take initiative in group work, classroom responsibilities, and spiritual life.
Strong Core Academics. The curriculum includes advanced grammar and writing, pre-algebra, scientific investigation, and world history - all taught through an Adventist worldview.
Leadership Development. As the oldest students in lower school, sixth graders take on more visible roles - helping lead worships, assisting with school events, and mentoring younger students.

Where Every Lesson Builds Confidence
and Character

The early years of education shape more than just school readiness—they shape identity, confidence, and a lifelong approach to learning. At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, we recognize that what happens in these formative years lays the groundwork for how a child thinks, relates, and thrives. Here, education is more than academics. It’s the cultivation of curiosity, the strengthening of resilience, and the daily experience of being seen and supported. In classrooms filled with purpose and encouragement, students begin to understand not just what they can achieve—but who they are in Christ.
