Music | Band, Handbells
A native of Mexico City, Miss Elsy brings over 15 years of experience teaching K–12 music and more than eight years of dedicated service at RMES. She has led a wide variety of ensembles—band, handbells, and strings—and previously taught at South Texas Christian Academy and Great Lakes Academy. With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting and denominational certification in music, she is passionate about helping students perform to the best of their God-given ability. Teaching at RMES is especially meaningful to her because of the school’s global reach, and she finds joy in seeing students carry their musical experiences into high school, college, and beyond.
Fun Fact - Dr. Gallardo once performed at Carnegie Hall alongside a member of the Canadian Brass (without realizing it!) and played two concerts in Mexico City during Adele’s 2016 world tour as part of an all-female brass ensemble.
The early years of education shape more than just school readiness—they shape identity, confidence, and a lifelong approach to learning. At Ruth Murdoch Elementary School, we recognize that what happens in these formative years lays the groundwork for how a child thinks, relates, and thrives. Here, education is more than academics. It’s the cultivation of curiosity, the strengthening of resilience, and the daily experience of being seen and supported. In classrooms filled with purpose and encouragement, students begin to understand not just what they can achieve—but who they are in Christ.
